Who We Are
Tiffany HuebnerFounderTiffany founded A Rotta Love in 1997, alone and in the basement of her home in South Minneapolis. She spent the next 10 years devoting much of her time and money to breed she loves. She also spent these 10 years studying dog training and behavior and in 2006 started her own training school, Dogue Style, in Princeton, MN. In 2007 Tiffany stepped down from the board of A Rotta Love Plus to dedicate her time to her new endevor and to her new baby daughter. You can find her, as well as an exceptional place to train your dog, at: www.doguestyle.com.
Rachel AndersonPresidentI've loved Rottweilers for as long as I can remember. Like many people, I didn't do much research before going out a getting my first one, a female named Bella, from a backyard breeder in 1995. In 1999 I found myself with some free time and wanted to give back to the breed that had given so much to me. I found out about Tiffany and A Rotta Love Plus on rottweiler.net and I've been active with them ever since. I now share my home and my life with two Rottweilers, Jake and Jana (CGC & TDI), and two pit bulls, Ronin and Lacena. What started as a hobby has become part of who I am. I am dedicated to helping these breeds overcome the unwarranted stigma that they've earned in the hands of irresponsible owners and to help reeducate the public about how wonderful these breeds are when raised in a responsible and loving home.
Lara PetersonVice PresidentFor me it all started in 1994 with Mala. She was the first pretty pittie I had. The moment I met her I was in love. It is true, I think, that pit bulls are the comediennes of the dog world. In 2002,when Mala stayed with her daddy, I found Debbie. Debbie was a four year old American Staffordshire Terrier that I adopted from a rescue. Debbie would require a new level of commitment from me that would later serve as the impetus for my involvement in rescue. What started as fostering quickly grew into a profound desire to be a force for change. Whether that be working with my own fosters, lobbying at the capital, blogging for ARLP, personing a booth or walking through animal control scouting for new program dogs, I am ready to roll up my sleeves.
Amy HotchkissSecretary, TreasurerMy name is Amy. I have been a volunteer for A Rotta Love Plus for a few years, and I am proud to say that I belong to such a great organization working so hard for Rottweilers and Pit Bulls! I think it's wonderful that ARLP advocates for both breeds, because my husband, Larry, and I have both a Rottweiler and a Pit Bull. We got Magnum as a puppy, and adopted Ora from A Rotta Love Plus after we fostered her and fell in love! Magnum is 5.5 yrs old, a Momma's boy, and a couch potato; and Ora is a very busy 3 yr old, Daddy's girl, frisbee Champ extrodinaire!
Kellie DillnerDirector, EducationMy name is Kellie Dillner and I am the assistant director of Education for A Rotta Love Plus! My fiance Tony and I were looking to adopt a dog in 2005, when we came upon the A Rotta Love Plus website and were hooked on this beautiful brindle little dog. We adopted her, named her Marri and were so pleased with how great this rescue was in helping us with all of our many questions about first time dog ownership! We were so impressed with everyone in the organization that Tony and I began to foster dogs. Then we began to really learn about BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) and the many myths associated with the American Pit Bull Terrier and other dogs considered 'pit bulls'. I had no idea people out there could think my dog was vicious just because she is considered a 'pit bull'. From my long time work as a Guardian ad Litem who advocates for abused and neglected children in court, advocating for my beloved pet was just a natural step. I am excited to coordinate ARLP's wonderful Bite Prevention Program for children and hope to help take the Education component of the rescue into many directions.
Aimee BoveeRot N' Pit Ed TrainerIt all started with an urgent case I found on Petfinder about a cute little pitty named Vito, he was deaf and desperately needed a foster home. I have always had a special connection to this breed and I love to help where I can so I took in Vito and have been hooked ever since! I have been working with dogs since I was a junior in high school and have practically worked in every aspect of animal care you can think of. I am a Certified Vet Tech, a dog trainer, and have a special interest in animal behavior. Pit bulls have always been my favorite breed of dog and I am always trying to educate people about them when I get the chance. I adopted my dog Rex as a rescue from another group. I have done a LOT of training with him (although it usually doesn't show). He is a certified therapy dog and is in Rally Competition. You might also see him as part of ARL's Bite Education Program. In Nov. he will be starting his acting class so keep an eye out for him he's gonna be a star!
LaDonna SeelyMedia RelationsI don't own a Pit Bull OR a Rottweiler. I am, however, currently owned by two rescue poodles! A standard, SoCo (CGC and TDI certified) and a miniature, Cappy, who is a handful! I've been involved in the Twin Cities dog world for several years with organizations like the HSUS, the Animal Humane Society and Helping Paws. I wrote for the Star Tribune's Pet Central section and also serve on the White Bear Lake Park Commission where we established a dog beach and updated our leash laws.
