There is nothing like a fresh coat of snow to restore your faith in the world. Everything appears clean and pristine, beautiful even. When the Minnesota landscape appears gray and desolate when the winter is winding down it can be difficult to imagine winter ever ending. Try, try, try as you might to envision a world that is green and blooming, it is difficult. Ohhh, to touch soft warm grass and supple foliage. Sigh…

A fresh coat of snow brings joy to a dog too. Dogs live in the now. Something we humans could stand to do once in a while. They don’t think about what “could be” as they are too busy with “what is”.Daphne is a canine shovel! She lifts the snow swiftly with her nose and licks it. Then she takes off like a rocket springing about the yard with the grace and buoyancy of a gazelle. The old dogs have moments of whimsy in the snow. The Chihuahua however, is not quite certain about it all. He tries to run back into the house to poop. It is much warmer in there and his feet don’t get cold. ~ Lara
