Bye Bye Strobe Light

Meeko ~ Available for adoption!

It is interesting what you find, at a certain point in your life, you are willing to part with. For me two things. First a strobe light. During past sortings of the junk there was no way I was giving up this thing. You just never knew when you would need to hook one of those babies up at a party. There is just something about light pulsating to the music that makes every party a party. Eventually I hung on to it because I might just want to hook it up some night when I was hanging out listening to music. Never happened. I mean really - when does one ever hang out alone sitting in pulsating strobe lights?

Second, was the two neon t-back bikinis, hot pink and nuclear yellow. Neither have ever touched water. They were merely to aid my youthful desire to be ornamental. Suddenly, at 39 - even though I could conceivable still get away with it (especially having witnessed that to some the figure for the outfit isn’t really part of the equation), the likelihood of prancing around in one of those things anytime soon is nil to none.

There is something sad about saying goodbye to things. No longer will I run across these articles. No longer, out of the blue, will they trigger my memory of another time. Not tangibly anyway.

The whole point to my rambling here is that ARLP is having a garage sale in Roseville this coming Friday and Saturday (6/26 & 6/27). All proceeds from the sale will go to ARLP’s veterinary coffers. Which I must say are dismally low. Additionally program dogs will also be there. Meeko, my little sweetness, will be at the sale Saturday morning.

We are still in the process of collecting donations but I caught a glimpse of some beautiful tires. I will post more information closer to Thursday.

If you live in the area and happen to have some cool stuff you would like to donate, please respond to this post and I will be in touch.

Hmmm… I wonder what that strobe light would be like with some Groove Armada flowin’ through it’s wires…

  1. Oh no more strobe light…how sad! I had one too…along with a couple black lights, a twirly neon thing that glowed in the black light, and some other fun electronics. I however have younger siblings that got all of the goods so had to part with my fun stuff awhile ago…I feel your pain. I’m sure the morning will subside soon! :)

  2. I feel your pain! I passed along some clothes, and one skirt in particular has stayed with me many years past it’s potential for being worn again - just for the memories. But, I reasoned - someone else will be able to make thier own memories with the fun things we “get rid of”. That seems pretty cool! My treasures will live on!!!!!
