Ok, so it isn’t really a “Lock Down”. The part of me that loves language and the connotation words can bring with them, (in addition to an attraction to the dramatic) , could not resist. And to be honest, when I am crating and rotating all I have to say to my crew is “lock down” and they all go running into the bedroom to be gated in. I was on the phone with my mother during a rotation. When I said “lock down” and she heard the dogs scurrying on their way she exclaimed “it sounds like you are running a prison over there!”. Oiy, if she only knew. Crating and rotating effectively is a skill.  I hope I do it well enough that all the beasts feel the love.

So it is Day 5 of the Two Week Shut Down. As you can see by the picture, Bitty (a.k.a. Bits, Bitsy or Foxy Roxy) doesn’t mind her kennel one bit. She is choosing to lay in it with the door open when she has the option of freely going elsewhere. Ok, freely as in the farthest the leash will allow her to go.

I really thought I was going to feel evil for all the crate time. So you can imagine my relief when it appears Bitty harbors no hard feelings. I think she is just happy for the nice soft bed, 2 squares a day and the love. So much love for my Bits.

My favorite thing about the Bit so far? Definitely the Orca-esque way she plays with all of her toys. I’ll try to catch it on film and share.
