Below are the dogs currently looking for their forever homes. All dogs are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.
All of our dogs attend at least one adoption day per month. This is a great opportunity to meet the dog and get an initial feel if they would be a good fit for you and your home. All of our adoption day dates and locations can be found here: ARLP Adoption Days.
Please email us at info@arottalove.org to find out if a specific dog will be at a specific location and if there is that "special dog" you're dying to meet email us and let us know and we'll try to make sure that dog is at the Adoption Day event that works for you.
DESPERATELY SEEKING FOSTER HOMES : You may notice that there are only a few dogs in our program at the moment. This is NOT reflective of the numbers of dogs needing rescue, it's only that we are currently very low on foster homes. If you, or someone you know, would be willing to open your hearts and your homes to a dog in need of rescue, please contact us.

Name/Nicknames: Pumba! Yes, from the Lion King and no I don't know any lions named Simba.
How did I get to ARLP: ARLP rescued me from animal control after my owner could not care for me any longer.
Hobbies: Friends!!! I love other 4 legged playmates. I think other dogs are the best thing since... food!! I also like to bask in the sun on the deck. I am learning what toys are slowly but I think they might be fun eventually.
Tricks/Commands: I know sit. I sit before I go outside and before I eat.
Crate Trained: Yes. I am silent as long as I am in a room with the door closed but leave the door open and I will make sure you know that I am in my crate. I am in my crate while my foster mom is at work and during the night and I do just fine without any accidents.
Potty Trained: Yup! I have not had any accidents in the house but I don't really have a signal, so I am on a "schedule" as my mom calls it to make sure I don't forget to go outside.
Size in pounds: About 30 pounds right now, I will probably get to be about 50-60 pounds.
Activity Level: Low/Moderate - When I am with just my mom, I like to explore the house and smell things, stop here and there to lay down. I usually just head for the patio door so I can go outside and lay in the sun or get some fresh air. But, when I am with a playmate I sure do like to play, play, play
Fun things I do: I like kitchen towels... weird I know.
Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my two legged foster mom, dad and a one year old little boy. I also have a four legged foster sister Paisley who is also a pit bull.

How did I get to ARLP: I was found at a local motel where someone had abandoned me. Then I had to wait at animal control for what seemed like ages and THEN the ladies of ARLP came to my rescue. Boy, was I relieved!
Hobbies: I love walking. I am pretty good at it. Sometimes I want to go in different directions but mostly I like walking next to my foster parents. I also have been given the job title of "supervisor" around the house. I have to make sure that when my foster parents are planting flowers, cleaning the gutters, or doing anthing else around the yard that they are doing their best.
Tricks/Commands: I have learned "sit," "lay down," "kennel" (I dont like that one so much!) and "go to your bed." I'm a quick learner. My parents keep saying to each other that I am ADHD. I'm not sure what that means but I do have trouble holding those commands for any length of time. But I'm working on it...
Crate Trained: Yes
Potty Trained: Yes
Size in pounds: I was 55lbs. when I came into the program but with all the walking and playing I am doing, I am down to 48lbs.
Activity Level: Medium to High. I have have a lot of energy and love to play but I can calm down when asked to.
Fun things I do: I like playing with tennis balls, wrestling with my four legged foster brother, walking and one of my favorite things to do is licking. I love licking feet, toes, hands, arms. Give me a living creature and I will clean them. Sticks are pretty cool too. Most of all I am a cuddler. I am happy just snuggling up with a warm human.
Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my two legged foster mom, dad and a playful male pittie.

How did I get to ARLP: ARLP rescued me from animal control after I was found wandering the streets.
Hobbies: Right now, I'm all about my foster sister. She's a bit of a stick in the mud though. She's trying to teach me manners and all I want to do is rough house. When she start ignoring me I play with my ball. It's got little green feet that make it bounce all crazy when it's thrown, it's awesome! I like the big rope too and bones are cool too. I guess everyone is happy that I like bones because my teeth are coming out and I'm not supposed to chew on anything else.
Tricks/Commands: I've got these people trained great. At breakfast/dinner as soon as I sit they give me food. When it's time to go outside I ring the bell and sit and they let me out. And when it's "training time", whatever that is, all I do is sit and they give me treats for nothing! My foster sister tells me there are lots of things I can do to get treats out of the big bi-ped. She's going to show me the ropes. I was supposed to go home with this nice woman but when the guy saw how trainable I was he wanted to take me home to see how much I could learn. He says I'm highly trainable and extremely eager to please. He makes it sound like I'm a push over.
Crate Trained: Yes. I whimper a little, but I settle in quickly.
Potty Trained: So far so good! There's a bell next to the door that I'm supposed to ring to be let out. I have no doubt that I'll start remembering to use it very soon and then you watch out. I'll be going out all the time.
Size in pounds: About 40 pounds right now, I will probably get to be about 65-70 pounds.
Activity Level: Low/Moderate - I like playing with my foster sister and all her toys, especially her Cuz ball. It makes funny sounds when you squeeze it!
Fun things I do: I like fetching my Cuz ball. I guess my foster sister is 3 and she doesn't fetch at all.
Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my two legged foster dad and a three year old four legged girl. Every weekday we go to the park for so-sal-I-zatshun. I'm not sure what that is but I love all the dogs there. My foster dad and sister know like, everyone. They also know who the best dogs to play with are. And then my foster dad blows the whistle it's treat time so I come running as fast as I can. He says we're training for good recall. I say we're trying to get fat.

How did I get to ARLP: ARLP rescued me from animal control after they picked me up as a stray.
Hobbies: Obedience school, doggie daycare, being outside, sleeping, going for walks,
playing with my brother and sister, and spending time with my foster mom
Tricks/Commands: I am working on all my obedience. I go to obedience classes at Dogue Style Dog
Training once a week. I have mastered loose leash walking and even got to walk
in a parade to show off my skills. Hopefully within in the next few months I will be ready to take my Canine Good Citizen test. I also go to doggie daycare on a regular basis to get all my socializing in with my friends.
Crate Trained: Yes
Potty Trained: Yes
Size in pounds: I am about 65 pounds.
Activity Level: I am pretty relaxed but I am still young so I have plenty of energy.
Fun things I do: I am a tad bit of an escape artist if you will. For a while I had my foster mom fooled!! She thought I was jumping the fence and kept getting mad at me for jumping over. However, she played a trick on me, she stood on the other side of the fence and called me over. She quickly learned I wasn't jumping the fence but I was squeezing my cute little body through a small gap between the fence and the house. Needless to say I was caught in the act and can no longer get out. I can't help that I want to be on the other side where all the fun stuff is happening! I like to be with my humans.
Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my two legged foster mom and dad and two rotties. One is a three year old female and one is a two year old male. We all get along great. There is also a kittie cat living here who I also get along with.

How did I get to ARLP: I'm one of four Bull Terriers that came in as part of the Viola Township Animal Seizure Case from the humane society. From the humane society my 2 brothers and one sister went to ARLP to find our forever homes.
Hobbies: This is my normal day routine:
9am- wake up and go outside to go potty
9:15am- eat my breakfast (I am a slow eater)
10am- head off to work with my foster mom
11am to 6pm- I am at work with my foster mom where I play with my toys, meet new people who say how adorable I am, and take naps in my den under the desk.
6:45pm- I eat my dinner
7:15pm- I play fetch with my foster brother. I love fetch, it has to be my favorite game and I am good at t too!
8pm- I go for my walk where I meet other dogs in the neighborhood, I just love other dogs!
8:45- Cuddle time! I am the best cuddler in all the land, thats how I got my nickname Cuddle Bug.
10pm- Bed Time. I sleep in my crate and I am quiet all night.
Tricks/Commands: I am working on sit. I sit before I eat my breakfast and dinner. I love Cherrios as training treats.
Crate Trained: Yup!
Potty Trained: Working on it... I do not go in my crate but I am still learning where the door is.
Size in pounds: I am a peanut right now but I should get to be about 55 pounds.
Activity Level: Low/Moderate - I am a puppy so I like to play and then take long naps.
Fun things I do: My foster mom is still getting to know me, so she doesn't know all my cute things yet... I have to make sure she can handle it all the cuteness. But she is pretty impressed that I know how to play fetch at such a young age considering where I came from.
Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my foster mom and dad and my four legged foster siblings- a female and male pit bull.

Hobbies: Everything is so new, I have a new favorite activity every day! I love to adventure in the back yard, playing tug with the rope, following my buddies around to play "chase me", and snuggling on the couch after a long day.
Tricks/Commands: I'm too new to know much. But, I have mastered "Sit" before I get to eat. I'm so smart for a little guy!
Crate Trained: Yes. I cry a bit at first, but then I fall asleep. I can only be in my crate for a few hours at a time because of my age, but I must say that I havent ad any accidents in there yet!!!
Potty Trained: Umm... Let's talk about that later. My foster parents have been bringing me outside on what they call a "schedule" to make sure I dont potty in the house. But, it's tricky, ya know! I get to playing and I forget sometimes. Overall, mommy says I am doing very well for such a small thing.
Size in pounds: About 10??? pounds right now, I will probably get to be about 55-65 pounds.
Activity Level: Low/Moderate - I am getting into the groove of things, but I am still a puppy so I take lots of naps.
Fun things I do: I kind of waddle back and forth when I am really ecxited or am trying to catch up with the "big dogs" without running. Mommy says it's so cute!!

Name/Nicknames: Meeks, Beaker, Meeker, Lil’ Bit How did I get to ARLP: I was picked running Portland Avenue in Minneapolis and landed in animal control. Then the wonderful ladies of A Rotta Love Plus found me and well they just couldn’t pass this up.
How did I get to ARLP: I love collecting all of my toys around me and taking turns nibbling on them. I love, love, love lounging on the deck, checking in on my foster sibs and getting loved up by my foster mamma. I am all about my foster mamma and I like to be near her. I am getting braver though and have been spending lotsa time in the yard with my foster sister Debbie. She’s teaching me how to stalk squirrels. When it is time to settle in and cuddle I like to be near the old man dog. He doesn’t growl at me like he does the Chihuahua. I think that means he likes me.
Tricks/Commands: I now know sit, no, and off. I am working on “come” and “stay”. I am also learning how to walk on a leash. I didn’t know what one of those were and they kinda freaked me out. Now I am learning that the leash means fun things like walks. At first I didn’t know what all the fuss was about these walk things. The other dogs would get really excited when my foster mamma said that word. Now I know why and I love going on walks with my foster family in the evenings.
Crate Trained: Yup
Potty Trained: Yup
Size in pounds: 28 – I am what ya call a “pocket-pittie”. I am underweight so my foster mamma is working on fattening me up. We’re not sure how much bigger I will get. Not much but hey – great things come in small packages!
Activity Level: Moderate, though I do like to play and run in the yard. But when it is time to chill I can be all over that.
Fun things I do: I like to rub my paws on my face which makes my foster mamma give me lots of kisses, which I love. I also like to coax my foster brother Chi to play with me. He’s a lot fun. I like to collect toys and gather them up into little piles. I love to eat! And I take my time to savor every morsel. I wag my tail through the entire meal and I am always the last to finish.
Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my two legged foster mamma, a female Am Staff, male Greyhound/Pointer Mix and a Chihuahua. I have heard that I just fell right in with the pack. No problems. What can I say I am a likeable guy.

How did I get to ARLP: I was surrendered to a local shelter because I injured my leg and my owners couldn’t afford to take me to the vet for treatment. My leg was checked out by the vet and that’s fine now. So because of all that I wound up here with the ladies of A Rotta Love. Really, I call that LUCK!
Hobbies: Sliding on the floor, chasing my four legged foster sister, playing with my toys, learning my manners. I love car rides! In fact, put me in a car and within a mile I’m sound asleep. Isn’t that what car rides are for? Napping?
Tricks/Commands: Sit…much more coming soon. I’m a pretty smart fellow and my foster mom says she’s going to teach me lots of stuff so I’ll be a perfect puppy for someone.
Crate Trained: Yeah, well, we’re working on this. I do sometimes like to nap in my crate. I just don’t like going in.
Potty Trained: Hey, I’m pretty good at this! But my foster mom says I can do better so I guess that’s one of those things she is going to teach me.
Size in pounds: 46 lbs. and growing!
Activity Level: Moderate for now—I need to learn to keep my big feet under me!
Fun things I do: I snore, LOUDLY. And, if you are scratching my belly and snuggling against me you can hear me groan and snort in pleasure. Humans seem to think that’s great…. I can’t imagine why, I’m just being a dog!
Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my foster mom and my foster sister Paisle, pit bull mix, 7 months old, and Antique Ansel, another pit bull mix, 10.5 yrs old.

Hobbies: I am a puppy so everything is fun and exciting for me. I like to follow my brother around and play with him and other friends in the neighborhood. At night I like to have cuddle time on the couch before bed.

How did I get to ARLP: Sprung from Saint Paul Animal Control!
Hobbies: I looooooove bones. I love them so much that I can eat them in minutes. I also LOVE to run around the yard with my big, four-legged foster brother.
Tricks/Commands: Well, I know sit.. it's not a solid sit without a treat but if you've got something yummy, I'll sit for it. Right now we're working on walking nicely on a leash. My foster Mom says that I'm taking cues from Remy (my foster brother) and that I'll be a gentleman on the leash in no time. We're also working on going into my crate nicely. I don't like this one so much. Mostly my foster Mom has to push me in. It's a work in progress. Oh, and I'm learning not to jump up on people. My foster Mom says I need some manners!
Crate Trained: Mostly. I fuss for a little bit but soon enough I'll calm down and fall asleep. I made it through the first night without any accidents which my foster Mom was really happy about.
Potty Trained: Mostly. I know that I should go potty outside but my foster Mom keeps me on a leash in the house so she can keep her eye on me. I have what she calls a "routine" as I don't know any warning signs to give before it's too late.
Size in pounds: 37 lbs. I might look big in pictures but I'm just a little guy.
Activity Level: Medium to High. I have have a lot of energy and love to play but I can calm down when asked to.
Fun things I do: I love being outside, playing with my foster Brother. I love going on walks around the neighborhood and showing off how well I walk on a leash. I also really love bones.

I'm a Dream.....
That's right -- I'm 12 weeks old, super cute and really smart. I love to roll around the yard and really want to cuddle with my doggy foster brothers but they're older and just aren't sure of a spitfire like me! I'm working to warm their hearts just like I already did to my foster mom.
Just to prove how smart I am, the other day I just walked right up and used the doggy door! I watched my foster brothers do it and figured it out myself. Yup, I'm a cutie-patootie and smart to boot!
Sweet Katie was found abandoned underneath a van in a warehouse district. Clearly she had been dumped off to fend for herself. Now Katie has been vaccinated and will be spayed soon. She is living in a caring foster home learning housetraining, crate training and good manners.

How did I get to ARLP: I was surrendered to a local shelter who then asked ARLP to find me a home. I was so dang cute the Ladies of ARLP were happy to have me!
Hobbies: I’m kind of a surfer dude type so I love layin’ in the sun and just generally being lazy. I’m totally into hangin’ ten on a sunny deck or at the lake. Oh, and if bananas and ice cubes are included, I’m doubly happy!
I also like following my foster mom around the house, just to keep track of what she’s up to. She says I’m quiet and well-mannered. Okay, I do like to carry shoes around sometimes but I never chew them!
Tricks/Commands: I’ve heard my foster mom brag that I know some basic obedience with hand signals. Well, of course! Doesn’t every dog know that stuff? I know Sit, Down, Come, Stay, Leave it and Kennel. Wow, I’m smart!
Crate Trained: Yup!
Potty Trained: Absolutely! I’ve got this one down pat.
Size in pounds: : I’m about 50 pounds. Just perfect if you ask me
Activity Level: Low/Moderate – I love playing with other dogs and kids. Sometimes I get the zoomies but you know, all that exercise and I just have to nap afterwards. I’m a pretty easy keeper.
Fun things I do: My foster family thinks I’m cool and so do the neighborhood kids that come over to play with me. Did I mention that I LOVE kids? They are great at throwing a ball for me. I play with my toys on my own if there’s no one else around. I also like learning new tricks. I really want to please my people so I’m up for learning anything!
Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my foster mom and dad and my foster sister Lucy who is also a pit bull and is 3 years old.
