All of our available dogs spend their stay with us in private homes, treated as members of the family. This allows us the opportunity to evaluate the dogs personality and temperment. It also allows us to begin working with them to make them the most adoptable dog that they can be. Our foster families work with the dogs on any issues they might have. Many of our rescues have never lived in a home or have never been given a reason to trust and love people. The foster family works on their socialization, their training, and their manners. They bring them to vet appointments and adoption days and they help to determine the best forever home for their particular dog.

Our foster families are the CORE of who we are and what we are able to accomplish. The primary barrier to how many dogs we are able to save is our lack of foster families.

Requirements

To have a successful foster care home, there are certain things you'll need to know about, and have on hand, to create the most positive atmosphere for both you and the dog. Some of these include:

• A true love of dogs
• Endless patience
• Time to work with the dog
• Current vaccinations on any pets you already have - and all pets should be either spayed or neutered.
• Be willing to offer honest and helpful advice to the directors of A Rotta Love Plus regarding the potential placement of your Foster dog. We'll need you to help us make a good match between dog and family.

As a foster home, you are not only providing shelter, but you'll be responsible for learning about and assessing the dog's temperament, health, and much more before finding him a new home. Of course, A Rotta Love Plus is always there to help!

With open arms and a lot of love, you'll see you can turn around even seemingly hopeless cases. Don't be fooled - you will certainly feel an attachment to your foster dog, and tears may be shed the day he leaves you for his new home. But the twinkle in his eye, and the smile on the faces of his new family make it all worthwhile when you have to actually say goodbye.

You'll know you've made a difference, and have given this dog a second chance at life. That is the most precious gift of all.

A Rotta Love Plus will provide you with everything you need! We cover all medical care, food, collar, leashes, kennels, and even toys! We are there for you night and day to provide any advice and support you may need.
