American Pit Bull Terrier : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Medium
Rumble came to us by way of a local animal control. He was picked up as a stray. Rumble had some major hair loss due to the stress of kennel living. A shelter is not a place for a young, energetic dog like Rumble. It's amazing what a loving foster family can provide for a dog in need. One month later and he's doing great now and ready to find his forever home!
Rumble isn't quite a puppy anymore but definitely not ready to "adult" yet! He's pretty close to full-grown but will remind you that he's still a puppy when he trips over himself due to pure happiness (and possibly big paws?)! He has a goofy personality and will keep you on your toes but if you tire him out, he'll reward you with a solid nap!
Rumble loves children but would do best with older kids due to his puppy energy. He's still mastering the concept of personal space and is getting pretty good at not jumping up but isn't 100% yet. He loves his people and really wants to be with you whenever he isn't napping peacefully in his crate (probably dreaming of his forever home or perhaps the next kong?). He loves to play with other dogs but is still working on his "manners" and older or more reserved dogs may find his play style a bit too rambunctious for their taste.
Yes, Rumble is crate trained and goes to bed in his crate without much fuss. He also takes breaks in his crate during the day, apparently his foster mom has this thing called a "job" and can't spend all day entertaining him? When she's ready for a break, he's more than happy to help her "close her rings" by joining her on an early morning, mid-day, and/or evening walk. He's pretty good on the leash too, especially when treats are involved. Did we mention he is super treat motivated and will turn all attention to you when there is a treat at stake?
Rumble is 100% potty trained (yay)! He is a quick learner and picked up on the bell by the backdoor as a way to notify his human that he needs a potty break after 2 days! He also knows sit, down, shake and hi-5 (the humans really enjoy the hi-5 trick).
Rumble is quite the show stopper. Literally, when he's showing off his leash manners, people will ask to pet him and always comment on how good looking he is. If you're looking for a best friend and someone to go on adventures with or hang out at the neighborhood patio, he's your man! He's definitely a conversation starter.
Rumble is a good dog for someone who:
