Name/Nicknames: Tallulah, Tally Toes, Toes, Tally Ho, Tallulah "Pigeon Toes" Bell

How did I get to ARLP: I was found on a property in Florida where officers had come to retrieve stolen property. I was found with 34 other dogs. It was apparent to the officers that we were being bred and trained to fight. You can read more about that here: http://www.wctv.tv/home/headlines/98063799.html Once we were all seized and impounded we then endured more abuse http://animals.change.org/blog/view/humane_changes_needed_at_gadsden_county_animal_control Then, thank goodness, some pit bull friends were called to come to Florida and evaluate us. When they saw how awesome I was they set about finding a rescue to take me in. They emailed the ARLP ladies and even included video coverage of my cuteness. Well it worked because here I am! On a side note: It was too hot to fly to Minnesota from Florida when it was determined that I was coming here. I spent almost three months with another shelter until it cooled off enough for me to travel. They took very good care of me. I am very thankful for these ladies who loved me and fed me for a spell before sending me on my way to my new life in the north.

Hobbies: Chewing!!!! I really really really love to do this.  Really!  I love to chew Nylabones, Kongs, cardboard (boy do I love cardboard paper towel rolls!) and, well, basically, anything I can get my teeth on.  I am also learning, and pretty quickly, what I can and cannot chew.  Shoes, no, stuffies, yes.  Oh, I also love love love to go for walks, oh, oh and jumping! I am good at it too.  I would probably be good at a number of fun doggie activities, once I get my manners and coordination down- I can be a teensy, weensy bit klutzy, sometimes.

Tricks/Commands: I know sit, off, no, and I am working on stay and come as well as a whole lot of other neat things at Rott n’ Pit Ed.  I am smart as a whip so I am quick to learn and love to go to my training class with my training buddy Julie. Soon, with a little work, I will shine.

Crate Trained: Yes, this one was an easy trick for me

Potty Trained: Yes
Size in pounds: 40 lbs

Activity Level: I am a firecracker!!!  I might be a squirt but I pack a love punch. I will love to do whatever you do. I will walk with you, hike with you, play tug with you, spring around, and pretty much anything ACTIVE.  I am a dog on the go and really love to keep my momentum going. I will definitely keep you on your toes. Mostly I am fun and will make you laugh. But don’t worry, at the end of a fun day of play I love nothing more than to crawl into your lap and snuggle under your chin. I am the best cuddler EVER!

Fun things I do: OMG, you have to see me run.  No, seriously, I have been told it is funniest thing in evah.  When run I guess I kinda drag my bottom half a little.  Yeah, my bum is so low that it looks like it is on the ground, but I can really get going.  I find this is an essential posture to get my pittie zoom on. Oh man, I cannot wait for you to see it!

I am working on: Manners, you see the thing is I love people and I love attention.  When they say that pit bulls are sluts, well, um, ya I guess I am. When I see people I try to get their attention by doing all sorts of funny things.  How can they resist? I am working really hard on being a well behaved lil pittie, and I am coming along nicely. That way I can suck more people in with my sweetness.

Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my foster mom and dad as well as two pit bulls and Rottie foster siblings. I am really dog social and love to play. Like a lot of pitties, and I can be a bit pushy about it. The only thing I don’t like to do with other dogs is share. No communal toy fests or meals for me thank you very much. My Auntie Lara thinks that given time, when I realize I will always have enough food and toys, this will change.

Here is some video of me playing with my friend and ARLP alum Penny: http://s229.photobucket.com/albums/ee299/ikelberry/?action=view&current=tally2.mp4

Much like any adult dog Tallulah is good with most dogs but not all dogs.
